You’re interested in galleries (photos, videos) when you want to know more about a certain subject, i.e. if you want to explore! Galleries are definitely belonging to the field of ‘discovery’.

I agree that discovery is more intertwined with other content (context). You read or viewing something and you want to know more. A enormous opportunity for online publishers.

I’m not a poker fan and I don’t know much of the game, but you can loose a lot of money But if the dealer has made this mistake, that game ends, doesn’t it?

What about video galleries? Discovery or Recovery?

I also think that the application of the content results is crucial from this point of view. Where search and recovery are leaning on a specific home portal (e.g. Google and YouTube), discovery is much more intertwined in existing content. A specific news fact, interest or person can become the starting point of a new discovery.

As a poker fan I have to put comments on your poker claim. Three kings do not automatically win the game. And if a player holds three kings in his hand, the dealer made a mistake. A mistake costs at least one small blind. You do not want that!
